On the 18th March at Rose Green Centre in Bristol, the premier of Maafa was shown. The documentary illustrates the truth behind the slave trade, from an Afrikan perspective. With contributions from community activists, project workers, teachers, historians and the business community, this documentary confronts the myths of British slavery, presents the true history of the Maafa and African resistance, examines the politics of the government’s bicentenary celebrations and highlights the on-going resistance work of the African community in Britain.
